Herbie’s: supporting vulnerable adults
Local residents, voluntary sector partners and statutory agencies working together to support vulnerable adults
The Herbies project developed in response to local concerns with street drinking and the needs of vulnerable people in the borough. The project evolved in response to the needs identified by potential beneficiaries and pulled together various stakeholders to respond in a more joined-up way. Today, Herbies provides a vital drop-in support service, operating 3 days a week, for over 100 vulnerable people, hosted by the local Salvation Army. The project continues to challenge service providers to respond in a more joined up way to the needs of local people, regardless of their issues.
